Yesterday I presented Kairotic Flow to a new group, after first updating the slides from last year. I think this 2024 version is a significant improvement on the old set!
There is some new information, some revamped phrasing, and new names for two of the Archetypes:
Settler is now Cultivator
Town Planner is now Regulator.
The presentation was recorded, so I’ll eventually share the relevant portion of that video as well. For now, here is a link to the slides.
After considering some of the discussion following the live presentation, I removed some of the diagrams from the slides which showed my short-hand labels (Market, State and Commons) for governance requirements of the Archetypes, and replaced them all with the basic diagram, shown above, that doesn’t have those labels.
I did this because the labels, which were intended to help with understanding governance requirements ‘at a glance’, actually added an unnecessary layer of complexity to an introductory presentation because I’m using the terms in a rather particular way that also needs defining. I’ve drafted several thousand words for the book already on this topic of governance — and am nowhere near done with it! — so in the interests of keeping the introductory presentation short, I’ll save the Market / State / Commons labels for more advanced deep dives.
Slide 11 (shown below) is already quite dense enough!
As always, I’m profoundly grateful for everyone’s insights, comments, challenges and feedback. This is one exhilarating journey of discovery!
I absolutely love slide 11. Off to see the rest of the slide deck now. Can’t wait to learn more about your work.
